One of the most important questions critical educators can ask is whether education can change society. The question has a long history and has led to multiple answers. I shall critically examine the question and provide a (qualified) "yes" as an answer. I shall then detail nine tasks in which what I call critical scholar/activists and public intellectuals need to engage in relation to asking and answering this crucial question.
