Neoliberalism and Hindutva in the making of an Indian smart city.
Dr. Rakib Akhtar is an Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Birmingham. An interdisciplinary scholar and chartered Architect and Town Planner, his research explores the nexus of technology-driven urbanisation, infrastructure, and the rise of right-wing nationalism, sitting at the intersection of Urban Planning, Political Economy, and Development Studies. His current research continues to explore the politics of planning, digital urbanism, and the governance of infrastructure in the Global South.
