Creative ways of doing research often yield data which is different from and richer than that yielded by interviews, focus groups and questionnaires. In public engagement and research dissemination activities, such methods can help people to think differently about sex and challenge popular/media representations. This event combines presentations and experiential workshops and aims to share experience and knowledge, focusing on creative methods in research, practice and dissemination. Activities are likely to include creative writing around intimacy, desire, and sex; craft and creative play to present narratives; using creative methods to get to different stories about sex; comedy; photographic methods; estrangement activities; and experiments and tools for collaborative production. Also introducing and considering the ‘bad sex media’ bingo card as a way of challenging problematic media depictions!
