Welcome to this EEE Power and Energy System seminar Drawing on his vast international experience in delivering solutions to protect, control, and automate transmission and distribution systems, John Wright will deliver a presentation entitled ‘What Happens When Protection Goes Wrong’. It will explore aspects of the design, operation, testing and commissioning of equipment deployed in electrical substations. Complementing theoretical studies, the session will consider some of practical challenges of working safely on particularly on secondary equipment in substation environments. For anyone who is in inexperienced in high voltage engineering it could be quite an eye-opener. Even experienced engineers may find themselves provoked into challenging their assumptions about what might constitute safe-working.
