Born 260 years ago this month, curators at the John Rylands Library share some collections around John Dalton (1766-1844).
The chemist, physicist, and meteorologist has a special connection to Manchester's Literary and Philosophical Society, eventually becoming it's secretary in 1800 and through presenting research including on colour blindness and vapour pressure.
