Our Discover Engineering Day will allow Year 12 students and other potential applicants who are interested in studying engineering the opportunity to explore the different course options available to them at university.

The day is of particular interest to students of Mathematics and Physics and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about the huge diversity of practical courses and careers that these subjects grant access to.

The overall aim of the day is to help you explore the full range of engineering degree programmes on offer from the most popular to the less well-known, including Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Civil Engineering.

When it comes to applying, you will benefit from this insight and hands-on experience and feel more confident that you have chosen a course that suits you best. This event is a fantastic opportunity for students of Physics, Engineering, Chemistry and/or Mathematics to explore the different opportunities available at University level though the study of engineering.

Our Discover Engineering Day is a perfect chance for students who either already know that they want to study engineering and want to explore the different courses and options available at Manchester; or for those who enjoy studying mathematics and sciences at A-level and wish to see how these subjects can be combined in an engineering degree.

The day will particularly suit you if you have a flair for problem-solving, teamwork and lateral thinking. You may also be interested in the grand, global engineering challenges which are facing the modern world.
