Girls Night Out: The Pulsar Party!
Celebrating 50 years since the first observation of radio pulsars by the pioneering female astrophysicist Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell, this Autumn’s Girls Night Out is set to be a fun-packed celebration of the wonderful world of pulsars.
Led by Dr. Sally Cooper, one of Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics’ resident pulsar hunters, the evening will include an inspiring introductory talk, a Q&A session with the pulsar hunting team, some hands-on pulsar model making, and a host of interactive experiments in our very own mini pulsar fair.
You can even take part in a spot of pulsar hunting yourselves and, of course, we’ll be serving up our ever-popular chocolate brownies –don’t miss out!
Tickets are limited so be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
