Returning in 2025, book a Jodrell Bank Astrophotography class and see the stars in a whole new way.
Learn to capture the ever-changing beauty of the night sky in an introductory class at Jodrell Bank – a unique location where researchers have been exploring at the skies for almost 80 years!
Spend an evening exploring the fundamentals of astrophotography and discover new ways to use your camera. With smaller class sizes to ensure every attendee can flourish, these sessions will provide vital tools and techniques to help you capture the cosmos.
Presented by astronomer, astrophotographer, and Jodrell Bank’s Head of Computing, Dr Anthony Holloway, these evenings make the perfect gift for the shutterbug in your life (even if that’s you!).
No previous knowledge is required to attend this session, but you will need to bring a DSLR or Compact System Camera with full manual controls and a tripod.
With both introductory and enhanced sessions on offer, there’s so much to learn as you capture the beauty of the night sky against the most spectacular backdrop in Cheshire.
Observing the night sky is weather permitting and outdoor clothing and footwear are advisable. If weather conditions are poor, alternative activities will be available and the event will happen as scheduled.
