Culture on the Periphery: social and cultural infrastructure in left-behind places
This event will be a 2-hour hybrid panel discussion featuring policy and sector stakeholders, including presentations, creative performances, video segments, and interactive discussions.
It will focus on creative placemaking, cultural policy, and social infrastructure, targeting policymakers, practitioners, community leaders, and the general public. The event draws upon case studies from the towns of Rochdale and Southport in the Northern region of England. It aims to share new research and innovative thinking on placemaking, and policy interventions aimed at 'levelling up' areas that have been left behind.
