Join us for the fifth webinar in the Health Research from Home series. This month we’re looking at how health research using smartphones and wearables is being delivered in the pharmaceutical industry and academia.
We’re very proud to have Valentin Hamy, Director of Digital Biomarkers Data Analytics at GSK presenting this month. Valentin will share his perspective on how technology can be used to support drug development. He’ll demonstrate the practicalities of this through the WeaRAble-PRO Study which looked at the feasibility of collecting data from patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis using an iPhone and Apple Watch. He’ll also talk about the potential of combining small and large data sets to develop a richer view of what smartphone and wearable technology data can tell us.
We’ll also hear from a future leader in our field, Aiden Acquah, a final year PhD student from the University of Oxford. He’ll share his research in the use of wrist worn accelerometery to predict Parkinson’s disease. This fascinating research, funded by GSK, looked at using sensor data to better identify at risk populations and understand risk markers of early Parkinson’s disease. The findings of this research offers huge potential for better detection and intervention points to improve outcomes for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
