Due to unforeseen circumstances, there has been a change of programme for the Walter Carroll Lunchtime Concert on Thursday 9 May. We regret that Antonia Sotgiu will no longer be performing, as was previously advertised. Instead, we are excited to feature acclaimed pianist, Artur Pereira!
Concert pianist Artur Pereira performs Luiz Costa’s Rural Scenes Op. 6 (UK première) and Mozart’s Sonata K. 331 based on a recently-discovered autograph in Budapest.
‘Utterly compelling accounts by a true performer, who makes one listen with new ears to music of great familiarity.’ MUSICAL Opinion
‘Pereira is a master colourist and temperamentally attuned to Costa’s bucolic tone poems.’ Gramophone
The Thursday lunchtime concerts are part of the Walter Carroll Lunchtime Concert Series, which is supported by the Ida Carroll Trust. They provide a wide-ranging programme to suit all tastes and are an ideal opportunity to enjoy great music performed by outstanding musicians. There’s no need to book – the concerts are free, and you can just turn up on the day!
