This in-person event held at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology will include presentations by specialists in the field of biomaterials translation. This year:
- Profs Abhay Pandit (University of Galway), Sam Butterworth (University of Manchester), Raechelle D'Sa (University of Liverpool) and Cheryl Miller (University of Sheffield) will share they expertise and experiences in translating their research.
- Drs Martin Gardener from OrthoSon and Charles Matthews from Locate Bio who will share their experiences from two companies that have gone through / are going through the translation process.
- Dr Kyle Burgess (UoM Alumni) from Venner Shipley LLP will share is professional journey going from academia to patent trainee lawyer and discuss the patenting process in the UK and
- Dr Rory Cameron (Business Consultant) will discuss how to approach investor and explain how to prepare a Value Proposition Canvas.
All speakers will be available during the day for further discussions with interested attendees.
This event is targeted at Early Career Researchers (incl. PDRAs and PhDs) in the field of biomaterials and related disciplines and will include poster and rapid-fire presentation competitions with prizes. The workshop will close with a drink reception.
We have a limited number of tickets and therefore places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
