Come and discover how Manchester helped make the modern world...
Our heritage tours lead visitors around some of the University's oldest and finest building whilst telling the history of the University's origins in rapidly industrialising Manchester. The tour moves around the campus to explore how ideas and discoveries at the University shaped the modern world. We discuss how scientific advances at the University helped our local and national economy, how nuclear physics began with the splitting of the atom on campus and the foundations of modern computing were laid in the building in the building almost next door.
The tour last around 1 hour.
