About the Seminar: An overarching research data management across all domains is built upon metadata describing research data and their generation. In order to ensure that disciplines can create and share a common understanding of the concepts and relations used to describe data, we need terminologies as a formal representation of domain knowledge.
The primary objective of TS4NFDI is to standardise and harmonise terminology services, establishing an interoperable and sustainable solution. TS4NFDI provides unified access to terminologies and terminology mappings across all disciplines. It integrates or connects existing terminology services and, most importantly, reduces the effort to integrate terminologies in any service or tool to manage research data.
For this, TS4NFDI provides a Terminology Service Suite (TSS) to provide a set of modular frontend functionalities via GUI widgets. These widgets can be incorporated into other web applications to provide semantic search functionality for data, or to facilitate data annotation in accordance with the FAIR principles.
