Title: Lower bounds for Galois orbits for certain uni-critical polynomials
Abstract: In recent joint work with Habegger, we established a Schinzel-Zassenhaus type result for the local canonical height of certain uni-critical polynomials. This leads to various Corollaries in connection with lower bounds for the degree of a point of small canonical height as well as pre-periodic points. I will give a short introduction into dynamics, go into the history of the problem, and explain parts of the proof that follows the strategy of Dimitrov in his proof of the "classical" Schinzel-Zassenhaus conjecture.
