This intensive 1.5-hour workshop is aimed at giving participants an insight into the key concepts to keep in mind once they enter the fundraising process.
During the workshop participants can expect wide ranging discussions around financing related matters, including but not limited to:
- Fundraising myths
- Learning how investors think
- Ways to fund start-ups
- Choosing the right funding option
- Understanding what investors need to see from you
- How to get meetings with investors and raise money
- Negotiating a good deal
Kalim Rahim is a University of Manchester alumnus, having studied Physics with Business & Management and subsequently pursued a Masters in Finance at the London Business School. He started his career in corporate finance at a London based investment bank, focusing on private equity investments. This was followed by a decade of principal investing as a venture capital investor, with a particular focus on early-stage university spin-outs. Kalim now acts as an advisor to various start-ups, supporting them with their expansion and internationalization plans, the commercialisation of innovative technologies, developing financing strategies and day-to-day general management.
