Overview
Social responsibility describes the way we are making a difference to the social and economic well-being of our communities and the environment through our teaching, research, public events and day to day operations. The session will outline how we contribute to global and national indicators as the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals and signpost means of developing your own action plan to embed Social Responsibility in teaching, research and civic/public engagement.
Intended Learning Outcomes
During this interactive wokrshop, you will:
- Outline the University Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement plan and the contribution made by Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health
- Present and discuss key priorities including equality, diversity and inclusion, widening access, patient and public involvement/engagement, service learning, global health and environmental sustainability
- Develop your own social responsibility action plan
