Prof. Daniel Wakelin (Oxford), ‘Healing the scab: resisting materials in late medieval books’.
Prof. Wakelin is a fellow of St Hilda’s College, Oxford and the author of Scribal Correction and Literary Craft: English Manuscripts 1375-1510 and Humanism, Reading, and English Literature 1430-1530.
The Brook Lecture, part of the English and American Studies seminar series, honours the memory of G.L. Brook, Professor of English Language and Medieval English Literature at Manchester University, 1945–77.
