Taking into account recent research findings on the ways in which funding patterns and university policies influence research agendas, the seminar will draw attention to the field of science and innovation policy research. This is a multi-disciplinary research area with close links with policy-making through its subject matter but also through the funding opportunities that the policy-making establishment offers both at the national and European level. This area can also offer some spectacular examples of influencing policy-making. The seminar will question whether the area is captive of policy-making and in a role of providing technicians’ services or can offer new perspectives and understanding of the interactions between science dynamics and research policy environment.
