With the continuous breakthroughs and rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the education sector is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. Innovations such as large language models, generative AI, and natural language processing are reshaping the landscape of language learning, redefining teachers’ roles, and revolutionizing the way teaching resources are developed.

As a crucial field of cross-cultural and cross-linguistic education, International Chinese Language Education faces both new challenges and exciting opportunities. In recent years, AI-powered teaching tools have proliferated, offering Chinese language teachers new possibilities—from speech recognition and automated grading to intelligent Q&A systems, classroom game generation, and knowledge graph construction.

However, a key question remains: how can we integrate these technologies into actual classroom practice in a scientific, reasonable, and effective way, while avoiding a superficial “tech-first” approach? This has become a pressing issue for frontline teaching and teacher training.

This seminar on “AI Empowering Chinese Language Classrooms: Case Studies, Methods, and Tool Applications” aims to create a cross-disciplinary platform focused on the integration of cutting-edge technologies with practical teaching applications. We have invited several leading experts and practitioners in the fields of educational technology and Chinese language teaching. Through a complete thematic chain—from understanding technology to instructional design, classroom practice, and teacher development—they will share case-based presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on feedback.

This event aims not only to provide participants with replicable, transferable, and scalable teaching strategies, but also to inspire critical reflection on the evolving nature of education in the AI era. We hope this event will encourage the rational, effective, and sustainable adoption of AI technologies in the field of International Chinese Language Education, and together, explore new pathways toward the classroom of the future.
