The 24th International Congress of History of Science, Technology and Medicine (ICHSTM 2013) is the largest-ever event of its kind: a week-long meeting of over 1600 researchers working to uncover how the sciences, engineering, mathematics, medicine and healthcare have shaped our world – and how the world has shaped them.

Talking and listening to public audiences has become increasingly important to specialist researchers in recent years. Throughout the week of the Congress, there will be public events ranging from HSTM-themed entertainment to debates and discussions on issues that have shaped the scientific past and present.
