Join us to celebrate and commemorate the significant contribution made by women to the Natural Sciences at the 2022 Irene Manton lecture.

The lecture is free to attend and is open to everyone, however we especially welcome A-level students with the hope of creating further interest in the study of natural sciences.

The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health in collaboration with The Linnean Society of London will host the 2022 Irene Manton lecture.

This year our guest speaker will be Rebecca Willis, Professor in Energy and Climate Governance. Her lecture entitled ‘Can Democracy Save us from Climate Change?’ will highlight how the only way to steer humanity through the climate change crises ahead, is to restore and rebuild democracy by finding new ways to involve everyone in a collective effort to safeguard the planet that we all call home.

This year's in person event will take place in the Roscoe Building and online.

Should you have any specific requirements, accessibility needs or other specific requests please notify srbmh@manchester.ac.uk by Friday 18th November.

We look forward to seeing you there for what will be a truly inspiring evening!
