Join us as we explore the fascinating world of letters. Using the unique collections at the Rylands we'll peek into private correspondence, offering us a rare view of writer and the world around them. A highlight will be the letters of Georgian socialite Mary Hamilton, subject of a recent research project 'Unlocking the Mary Hamilton Papers'. With over 2000 letters and 16 diaries scattered across the country, researchers have been able to gain a greater understanding of language, reading and social networks of Georgian England through analysis of this vast collection.
