The VICTORION-Spirit study to evaluate the delivery of Inclisiran in primary care – (part 2) early findings from the process evaluation
Speakers: Dr Bec Elvey, Dr Amy Mathieson, Paul Wilson
This seminar follows the CPCHSR seminar in January 2021, ‘Accelerating the introduction of innovative treatments in health systems: the VICTORION-Spirit study to evaluate the delivery of Inclisiran in primary care’ where Paul Wilson described the overall approach of this trial. SPIRIT is a hybrid trial, comprising both a clinical trial and a process evaluation.
This presentation will focus on the process evaluation; we are taking a qualitative approach and interviewing patients and providers about their experiences of the trial. Recently, implementation researchers undertaking qualitative data analysis, have developed and applied a ‘rapid analysis’ approach using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). 1 Our method of data analysis draws on this ‘rapid’ approach. We are now partway through data collection and have interviewed over 30 patients and providers.
In this seminar we will present our initial analysis and findings. As this is ‘work in progress’, we would particularly welcome feedback and discussion on our methods and analysis – as well as the potential implications for implementing new treatments in primary care.
