The Group for Debates in Anthropological Theory debates the motion: 'Theorising the future is the future of anthropology'. Simon Visiting Professor, Ghassan Hage, and Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University, Rebecca Bryant, will be proposing the motion. Stef Jansen, Professor at the University of Sarajevo and Honorary Professor of Social Anthropology at Manchester, and Dr Basak Sarac-Lesavre, Assistant Professor in the Centre for the Sociology of Organisations at Sciences Po, will be opposing the motion. Following the debate, attendees are invited to Sandbar for post-event pizzas and drinks.

This event is supported by the Association of Social Anthropologists and the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester. This is a walk-in event and attendees do not need to register beforehand.
