Talk Descriptions
Dr Preece is the deputy director of the new Supergen Energy Networks Impact Hub which will run for five years from October 2023. The Supergen Energy Networks Impact Hub brings together the vibrant and diverse energy networks community to gain a deeper understanding of the interactions and inter-dependencies of energy networks, and to deliver impactful change to help make energy networks a driving force for decarbonisation. Robin will talk about the hub, its research goals, and ways to get involved.
Professor Foley is Chair in Net Zero Infrastructure and a joint appointment to Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE) and Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in the School of Engineering at The University of Manchester. She is also Executive Managing Editor of Elsevier's Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, a member of the Editorial Board of Nature Scientific Reports (Mechanical Engineering) and an Editorial Panel Member of the Proc. Institution of Civil Engineers – Transport. Her research work focuses on power and gas systems, transport systems, wind power integration, and technoenviro-economic analysis of energy systems. Before joining Manchester in 2023, she was with Queen’s University Belfast from 2011 to 2023, where she was promoted by progression from Lecturer to Reader and finally Professor.
