Coming out of archival research Alice pursued last year at New York University, this research seminar discusses the adolescent forms and temporalities of Cookie Mueller's short stories, her 'nearly novel'. Known for her wild style and roles in John Waters's early films, Cookie Mueller was also a writer and art critic, who contributed widely to the downtown zines and journals of 1970s and 80s New York, before her death from AIDS-related illness in November 1989.
