We would like to invite English A-Level students from across Manchester to take part in a series of interactive workshops on Shakespeare and his works.
Academics and postgraduates from the English department at the University of Manchester will offer the following workshops on Shakespeare (provisional):
Shakespeare on film, Hamlet: key passages, Approaching Shakespeare: important ideas. Each workshop lasts one hour and students will attend all three.
Lunch is provided in the University’s refectory from 12noon and a break and a campus tour are provided half-way through the afternoon. The campus tour will also incorporate a talk and tour by the University’s English Librarian in the John Rylands University Library. This afternoon of interactive workshops will be followed by the annual John Stachniewski Memorial Lecture on Shakespeare in the evening. Previous lectures have included Professor Kate McLuskie, Director of the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon
