About the event:
Sir Ronald Fisher is among the founders of Statistical Genetics, a field where statistics and genetics interact with each other to create synergy beneficial to both subjects. Such interactions become increasingly important because of the rapid advances in genetics, e.g. analysing multi-dimensions and huge volumes of data require new statistics to support. The debate of the role of gene-gene interactions in the genetic regulation of complex diseases, first initiated by Fisher, assembled vibrant interactions between statisticians and geneticists.
