This short course is an introduction to single-case designs (SCD) over two half-day workshops. In the first workshop, we will provide an overview of the different type of SCD and describe some real-world examples of studies using SCD in health research. The second workshop will cover how to evaluate SCD data, focusing on both visual and statistical methods, and conclude with a group activity where attendees design a basic SCD for a clinical scenario.
Objectives
On completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand single-case design (SCD) methodology and describe some real-world examples of SCDs in health research.
- Understand the principles of visual and statistical data analysis in SCDs.
- Be able to design a simple SCD for a clinical scenario and develop a basic analysis plan.
