12-4pm. Are the grandchildren brimming with energy and you fancy having some fun with them? Bring the whole family and make an afternoon of it with fun free family activities at both the Manchester Museum and down the road at the Whitworth Art Gallery (1.30-3.30pm at the Gallery).
Share scrapbooking skills and create your own scrapbook to collect mementos of your visits to the Museum and Gallery.
At the Museum enjoy the newly opened temporary exhibition, Breed: The British & their Dogs. Breed focuses on six pedigree dogs: bloodhound, borzoi, bulldog, collie, Irish wolfhound and Pekingese; and reveals the enduring and affectionate relationship between the British people and their dogs. Wander the Museum galleries with your grandchildren and see what other animals they can spot. Children and families can get crafty and make their own sock pet to take home.
At the Whitworth Art Gallery bring along your creative skills and imagination and join our artist for a fun craft workshop surrounded by newly loaned Hockney paintings with a view over Whitworth park, to create your own personal 3D landscape.
Price: Drop-in, free, all ages
