A Climate Café is a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings about the climate crisis. Cafés are facilitated by Public Health staff and are supported by the Climate Psychology Alliance.

What is a Climate Café? A climate café is a safe space to share our feelings about the climate crisis – a thinking and feeling space, a haven from busyness and activity. We do this because sharing feelings in a supportive setting helps to build our resilience during this confusing and difficult time. The café is organised by Public Health staff and supported by the Climate Psychology Alliance.

It’s a café, not a therapy group, a meeting with facilitators to talk about what our changing climate means for us. No guest speakers, no lectures, no advice, no commitment, an action-free space.

The principles for Climate Café:

• We have no intention of leading participants to any conclusion or course of action

• This is an open, respectful and confidential space where people can express their views safely

• The focus is our thoughts and feelings about climate change, rather than what we or others are doing about climate change. Action is important, of course, but we don’t focus on it here.

• Climate Cafés normally include refreshing drinks and food. This is about the human warmth and comfort that come from sharing food and drink together. Why not bring your lunch and eat with us?

Registration is required, please register via Eventbrite.
