Our next meeting will have Masha Remskar from the University of Bath presenting on ‘Mindfulness, Movement and Mood: Understanding how digital mindfulness-based interventions can support physical activity behaviour change for people at risk of mood disorders’.

Masha Remskar MSc BSc is a doctoral researcher in behavioural science at the University of Bath, UK. Her work studies digital behavioural physical activity interventions, cognitions associated with successful behaviour change, and whether mindfulness training can help facilitate physical activity behaviour change. She is interested in the neuropsychological processes connecting mental and physical health and their translation into behavioural interventions. Masha also co-hosts a podcast sharing the science of a healthy life – available by searching ‘Getting Brighter’ on any streaming platform – and is a keen proponent of open science.

The Behaviour Change Meeting Group at The University of Manchester has the purpose of bringing together academics and clinicians across several institutes who are working with behaviour change, intervention development and/or implementation theory. We usually meet online on the first Thursday of the month at 3pm, inviting external speakers and internal speakers to discuss and gain feedback on their latest research in the field. We have a range of health and clinical psychologists in the group as well as epidemiologists, nurses and physiotherapists who work with a range of different short-term and long-term conditions in different contexts (public, patient and healthcare professional groups).

If you would like to be added to the email list to hear about future meetings, please contact Rhiannon Hawkes: rhiannon.hawkes@manchester.ac.uk .
