Christina Lupton (University of Copenhagen) will lead a CIDRAL Key Ideas Seminar entitled Michel Serres, The Troubadour of Knowledge.
This is the most pedagogical and in some sense most accessible text by philosopher Michel Serres. We'll be tackling it as a text offering rare insights into the plight of the humanist, the consumer of books, as someone who wrestles practically and logistically with the constraints of time. We'll also be thinking about Serres influence on the field of queer time studies -- on why he has been important for scholars like Carolyn Dinshaw. And we'll be thinking about Serres work as one experiments in scholarly writing that cuts practically across the demands of linearity.
Christina Lupton is Professor of English at the University of Copenhagen.
