In this masterclass Enrique García Santo-Tomás will reflect on a number of issues in relation to the formation of the literary field and the creation of cultural myths in early modern times. These concerns are related to the process of writing and publication, and more specifically to the idea of sharing someone’s work either by personal desire or by the pressures of the public. The fiction of the time is peppered with examples of childbirth, either natural or monstrous, and this class will explore some of them.
