At this seminar, Paul Wilson, a Senior Lecturer in Implementation Sciences at the University of Manchester, will present a talk titled “Accelerating the introduction of innovative treatments in health systems: the VICTORION-Spirit study to evaluate the delivery of Inclisiran in primary care”.
The need to address large population health burden is a corner stone of the NHS Long Term Plan. The NHS is now considering population health approaches for the implementation of new health technologies. This requires understanding how new technologies could be deployed and delivered in the real world. As part of a national commercial agreement between the UK Government and Novartis, we are working with NHS England and Novartis to evaluate how to deploy and deliver the cholesterol lowering drug inclisiran at scale in primary care. This presentation will describe the study methods and discuss how trial represents an opportunity to rethink traditional development pathway for new technologies.
