A photo and story collection by Amy Barron and the people of Prestwich
Amy Barron, an PhD researcher in Human Geography at the University of Manchester, is exhibiting a photo and story collection (Place, Belonging, Manchester) with friends from Prestwich Greater Manchester. Part of an on-going three-year research project, the collection offers a way to disrupt reductive narratives of older age. The collection foregrounds the subtle ways in which different older people relate to place and some unifying qualities of Mancunian communities. Relevant to communities and policy-makers alike, the collection is intended to share insights and generate discussion about older people’s senses of place.
