Abstract
We have over 2,000 images of the department dating back to the 1940s: some iconic, some frankly quite obscure. The talk will describe the building of a new system that makes them publicly available. We will also describe some of the problems that we encountered and then show a selection of images, each of which has a story behind it.

Biography: Jim Miles is a retired Professor of Computer Engineering in the Department of Computer Science where he was head of the department and a member of the Nano Engineering & Storage Technology Research Group (NEST). Toby Howard is an Honorary Reader in the Department of Computer Science. He was appointed Lecturer in 1985 and was Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department 2011–2019. He retired from the University in 2020 and was appointed to an Honorary position.
