In collaboration with Creative Manchester, join us for an event celebrating the legacy of Manchester-born Sir Harold Evans (1928-2020), legendary editor, journalist and author. Hear both Peter Gillman and Emanuele Midolo in a talk on spies and cold war mysteries.
As editor of The Sunday Times, Harry Evans set the gold standard for investigative journalism, pursing stories over many years and leaving no stone uncovered. In 1977 David Holden, a Sunday Times foreign correspondent, was murdered in Cairo a mystery which puzzled Sir Harry till the end of his life.
This event takes place in the ground floor event space at the John Rylands Library, Deansgate. It is chaired by Joshi Hermann, Editor of The Mill.
