This session is delivered by a university tutor with a special interest in Gamification in teaching. After the session the attendees will have developed a deeper understanding of the history of gamification and it’s application. The second part of the session will demonstrate how to develop games used in education and modify them based on student feedback.
Delegates will leave the session on how to:
Understand the term gamification, it’s etymology and application.
Understand the role of games in higher education.
Identify the skills required to develop games within established mechanics.
Critically discuss the advantages, disadvantages and barriers to gamification implementation
