2020 marks the 75th anniversary of Jodrell Bank Observatory. Since 1945, this globally significant site has been at the heart of ground-breaking and world-leading scientific research.
In our brand new talk, you’ll explore Jodrell Bank’s 75 years of awe-inspiring science. Join us on a whistle stop tour from the early breakthroughs in radio astronomy, through the dawn of the Space Race and the height of the Cold War, to today’s cutting-edge technologies and latest discoveries.
Now recognised by the international community as a site of Outstanding Universal Value, Jodrell Bank Observatory is the UK’s newest UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was inscribed on to the World Heritage list in 2019, in recognition of its globally significant science, heritage and cultural impact.
