Flying Carpets will immerse and lead audiences on a journey into the hidden stories behind some of the Museum’s unique collections. Prepare to be transported across centuries, civilisations and continents to see Manchester Museum’s collections in a whole new light through music, dance and storytelling. From a Saturday night out in a Congolese village, to the ramblings of Ishtar, the Mesopotamian Goddess of love, beauty, war and political power; explore historical links to Manchester’s refugee communities. Flying Carpets is a family-friendly performance created and performed by refugee artists. Created by Community Arts North West with Abas ElJanabi, Amani Creatives, Arian Sadr, Fereshteh Mozaffari and Mahboobeh Rajabi. Directed by Cheryl Martin.
