2-4pm. Join Phil Rispin, Curatorial Assistant of Entomology, to find out more about the insects and plant life that has been found at Whitworth Park during previous BioBlitz events at the park. Get some practical tips on insect identification and what you can spot living in local urban environments and see some specimens from the Museum’s collection.
Phil will lead a behind the scenes tour of the Museum entomology stores before setting off for the 15 to 20 minute walk to Whitworth Park for some hands-on bug hunting and identification. The afternoon will finish at 4pm with a cup of tea at the Anchor Coffee House.
If it’s very, very wet, Urban Naturalist will stay in the Museum, with a tour of our new exhibition Whitworth Park: Pleasure, Play and Politics. Part of Love Parks Week.
