Gay Self-Expression in the Archives: Gay Politics & Gay Poetry in the later Twentieth Century
As part of LGBT History Month, artists, Jez Dolan and Joseph Richardson will be introducing their arts project, the Polari Mission, an attempt to recover and resuse the lost gay language of Polari.
Additionally, archivist Matthew Schofield will be organising a collection encounter with some archive material from the Library’s collections relating to LGB politics and LGB poetry 1960s-1990s, demonstrating LGB expression through language. This will be a chance to be introduced to some of the Library’s collections and to view and handle archive material from a number of LGB writers and campaigners.
