'Nobody understood it. I wish I could conduct the first performance fifty years after my death'.
Now barely a century since, the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra returns to the Martin Harris Centre for a second chance to hear Mahler’s monumental and now much-loved 5th symphony. The concert marks the beginning of their tour to the historic cities of Heidelberg and Prague, suitably rounding off what has been an ambitious year for the orchestra. Prospective students are invited to join an informal question and answer session over tea and coffee immediately following this performance.
UoMSO proudly performs as part of the Not Part Of festival, the fringe to Manchester International Festival.
