Dr Laurence Brown will discuss past and present migration, focusing on the industrial and post-industrial eras. He will examine the migration of different peoples to Manchester including Irish, Jewish, Caribbean and South Asian, as well as migration within the UK. This will lead to an interesting debate on segregation and multiculturalism in the city.
