This Christmas we will be hosting three consecutive evening lectures which form part of our very popular Lovell Lecture series.
We are delighted to have Dr Sarah Crowther who will be giving a talk on Unravelling the Solar System
Have you ever wondered how the Earth and the other planets formed? Learn about the history of the Solar System and how scientists at The University of Manchester are using high tech techniques to study meteorites, comets and more in the lab.
Dr Sarah Crowther works at The University of Manchester investigating the origins and evolution of our Solar System. She studies meteorites to calculate how old they are and learn more about the physical processes that occurred in the early Solar System. She is also involved with studying samples of the solar wind collected by NASA's Genesis and samples from comet Wild 2 collected by NASA's Stardust mission.
