Bring all the family to Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre this Easter and join in with our fun drop-in activity: Make a Quasar!
3rd - 13th April weekdays only, 10:30 - 12:30 and 1:30 - 15:00
Quasars are among the brightest, and most distant objects in the universe! They are young, energetic galaxies which existed in the early universe. They shoot out intense jets of radiation, powered by supermassive black holes at their centre which are pulling in matter.
In this drop-in session, you can create your own model of a quasar, plus learn how radio observations (including Jodrell Bank’s early experiments to link radio telescopes) led us to find out more about these remarkable objects!
