Flying Carpets will immerse and lead audiences on a journey into the hidden stories behind some of the Museum’s unique collections. Prepare to be transported across centuries, civilisations and continents to see Manchester Museum’s collections in a whole new light through music, dance and
storytelling.
From a Saturday night out in a Congolese village, to the ramblings of Ishtar, the Mesopotamian Goddess of love, beauty, war and political power; explore historical links to Manchester’s refugee communities.
Flying Carpets is a family-friendly performance created and performed by refugee artists.
Created by Community Arts North West with Abas ElJanabi, Amani Creatives, Arian Sadr, Fereshteh Mozaffari and Mahboobeh Rajabi.
Directed by Cheryl Martin. In collaboration with Journeys Festival International, Manchester Museum and Rethink Rebuild Society
