Resilience starts with communities.
Disaster-affected populations are not just victims. They are first responders, knowledge holders, and long-term stewards of their own recovery.
The global humanitarian system is at a crossroads. Disasters are growing in frequency and complexity, yet too often, the communities most affected are placed at the end of the decision-making chain.
The concept of localisation and co-creation seeks to change that. It’s about ensuring that resources and decision-making sit closer to the people and systems who live with risk every day, transforming humanitarian action from something done to communities into something led with and by them.
In this webinar, we will explore the practical link between localisation, co-creation, and resilience building and why it is not only a moral imperative, but a strategic one. You will gain insight into how locally led action can:
- strengthen preparedness
- accelerate response
- deepen community ownership
- build lasting resilience long after international actors have gone.
